内容提要:
In this Lecture, I will try to shed a new light on an argument exposed in the Metaphysical Meditations (published in latin in 1641), according to which an almighty God could have created the soul such a way that it should always be misguided. I will then show how it is rooted in Descartes’ conception of reasoning. Lastly, I will identify in this false supposition the highest expression of the problems raised by the actual development of philosophy, by proposing a comparison with a given state of knowledge before Descartes. The goal of this Lecture is to show that the extravagante assumption of a deceitful God reaches avery concrete problem, that has to do with the actual scientific reasoning in early Modernity.
