 提要： Adolescents often face increased risk for behavior problems. These problem  behaviors have detrimental impacts on youths’ social and emotional  development and can also persist into adulthood. Research has shown that  various individual (e.g., self-esteem), school (e.g. school adjustment), and  familial factors (e.g., autonomy granting, parent-adolescent conflict) predict  adolescents’ problem behaviors. Recent studies reveal between and within- culture variations. Professor Yan Xia’s research employs Ecological Systems  Theory to examine adolescent developmental outcomes by taking into account  multiple layers of influences, ranging from the micro-level (e.g., family and  school) to the macro-level (e.g., policy and culture). During her presentation  she will introduce family studies as a research field and a profession, and  further specifically discuss the findings of her research, the effects of  individuals, school, and familial protective and risk factors on adolescent  problem behaviors as well as moderating effect of cultural influence. 

主讲人简介： 夏岩（Yan Ruth Xia）博士，美国内布拉斯加大学儿童、青少年和家庭学系教授、华东师 大特聘教授，2018-2019美国富布莱特讲座教授。家庭学博士；婚姻和家庭治疗硕士。夏岩 教授是全美家庭研究学会国际分会前主席、两家家庭研究期刊的评委。多年研究个人、家 庭、学校、社区以及文化对青少年发展的影响，发表论文数十篇并受约为多部权威专著撰 写文章。她致力于科研以提升青少年家庭服务和社会政策制定，创造有利家庭健康发展的 社会，提高儿童、青少年和家庭的福祉。她受邀为联合国经济和社会事务部可持续包容社 会发展家庭专家组及家庭政策和青少年发展专家组成员。
