第三届南京-埃默里论坛:视觉中的文化政治 2012.5.14

2012514,恰逢南京大学110周年校庆之际,南京大学高研院及海外教育学院,与美国埃默里大学(Emory University)及美国亚特兰大孔子学院(Confucius Institute in Atlanta),在南京大学高研院联合举办了为期一天的“第三届南京-埃默里论坛”,中美双方共25位学者参加了此次论坛。

此次论坛的主题是“视觉中的文化政治”。由中方组织者南京大学校长助理、高研院院长周宪教授,和美方组织者埃默里大学副校长Holli Semetko教授商议发起。来自南京大学外国语学院、文学院、社会学院、哲学系、历史系、城市资源系、中国思想家研究中心以及南京艺术学院等不同学科的14位中国学者,和来自埃默里大学艺术史系、英语系、历史系、政治系、新闻系、经济系等11位美国学者,分别就中美等国各自丰富的视觉文化现象展开了分析和阐释。由于会议主题是视觉文化,所以学者们充分运用各种图像表现手段,做了图文并貌的生动发言。此次会议具有鲜明的跨学科特色,来自不同的学科背景的学者以不同的研究视角对视觉文化展开了不同的解读,集中于视觉文化中所蕴含的复杂文化政治问题。通过双方的发言和讨论,中美学者都从对方学到了不少东西,既增进了彼此的了解,又为进一步发展出合作研究的课题奠定了基础。在前两届论坛的基础上,此次论坛的成功举办又进一步加强了南京大学和埃默里大学在人文与社会科学领域的合作与交流,为南京大学110年校庆活动又增添了一道亮丽的风景。
